Well, Jake continues to amaze me. He is doing extremely well. Still has a hearty appetite. Still getting around. Not showing any signs of pain or discomfort. He is still super-affectionate and loves to have his face rubbed. His body looks like it has filled out more. Not sure if he gained any weight, but he looks more healthy.

Wednesday, 11/2/11

Jake is still doing well and has a pretty good appetite. He always walks up to me and wants me to massage his face. Lately,  he's been getting a little pissy-meowing and hissing if I overstep my boundaries. If I try to pick him up, he cries. Not sure if he's in pain or uncomfortablet. He cries every morning when I say goodbye to him, as if he's telling me not to go. He doesn't look really thin-can't tell if he put on any weight or not.

Sunday, 9/11/11

Jake seem to be doing better. His appetite is back to where it was. He did throw up this morning-the first time in about 3 weeks. He is more affectionate and like to receive affection more than in the past. He tried to jump up on the bathroom counter this morning, but didn't make it, so I carried him up. I put a plastic storage bin on the side of the bed, covered with a towel. I'm hoping he will start using that to jump down from the bed, instead of crawling over the night stand and knocking things over. I hope it's him just getting older, and not the disease.

Wenesday, 8/31/11

It seems like Jake might be starting to feel better. He's been eating a little more (yesterday, he wolfed down his dinner and wanted seconds). He has a little more pep and is playing/interacting more. Hope he continues to feel better.   

Wednesday, 8/24/11

Jake has still not been 100% the past week or so. He's eating most of the food I give him. He's been throwing up about 2-3 times the past week, mostly liquid.  Last night, I gave him some catnip. He was going crazy afterwards, trying to get into the package.

Tuesday, 8/16/11

I think Jake has been feeling a little under the weather the past day or two. He's a little more mellow, but still eating and still super-affectionate. I noticed he's been pooping a lot more-I'm having to scoop his litter box more frequently. I want to look into doggie steps, as I can see him contemplating for a minute or two before jumping up or down on the bed, counter, etc.

Thursday, 8/11/11

Jake is still eating well. It looks like he is starting to fill out a little more. He threw up a little the other day, but it's only been happening once every week or two. The past few days, he has been super-affectionate.

Sunday, 7/31/11

The past few days, Jake's appetite has increased. He is now eating 8-10oz/day. He's acting more like himself. I can't tell if he's gaining weight yet, but I'll keep an eye on him over the next few weeks.

Monday 7/25/11

Jake is still a little more mellow than usual. He'll pick at his food, but I usually have to bribe him wtih treats to eat more. Eventually, he is finishing what I give him.

Thursday, 7/21/11

Yesterday, Jake was kind of mellow. Today, he seems to be doing a little better. He's still eating, although it takes a little longer. I spoke to the doctors office about his prednisone and they said I should continue to give it to him daily.

Thursday, 7/7/11

Since yesterday, Jake is a little more mellow. I'm assuming he's not feeling himself. He's still eating though and letting me pet him. Last night, I gave him a new flavored cat food and he loved it. He scarfed it all down. This morning, he let me rub him for a while and he was purring loudly. 

Monday, 7/4/11

Jake is still doing good. I spoke to the specialist on Friday and told him I was still concerned that he looked thin. He advised me to give him the prednisone daily for a month. He told me to take a picture of him and then another in a month to see if it looks like he put on any weight. If not, then we will go back to every other day.

Wednesday, 6/29/11

The dr. came over yesterday. Jake was freaking out the whole time. Dr. had to struggle to get muzzle on him and then get him into a sack. I felt so bad for Jake. The last thing I wanted to do was stress him out, but the dr. wasn't even able to listen to his heart until he was restrained. It was awful! He was able to get blood drawn, so that was good. I should find out the results this morning. After the dr. left, Jake was back to normal. 

Wednesday, 6/22/11

Jake contines to do well. He's still eating and playing. I made an appt. for next Tuesday to have a house-call doctor come to check on him. He wants to do bloodwork and thinks he can calm Jake enough without stressing him. I told him let's play it by ear. It's important that they check all his levels, and to make sure his organs are functioning properly. I hope he can do it, but I really don't want to stress Jake out. 

Monday, 5/30/11

Jake continues to do well. Yesterday, I had a lot of people over for a bbq and had Jake locked in one of the bedrooms. Someone let him out and he freaked out. I tried to grab him by the scruff, he bit me on my hands. Don't know if they're infected, but they are sore & swollen. After everyone left, he was fine. 

Monday, 5/23/11

I went to NY for a few days and left Jake for the first time since he was diagnosed. It turned out well. A friend came by twice a day to check in on & feed him. He was ok the first visit, but tried to attack her the other times. When I came home, he was so happy to see me. He had only spit up a tiny bit in 1 area once.

Saturday, 5/14/11

This morning, just after drinking from the bathroom sink, he got down and threw it all up-water everywhere. He was doing well after that though.

Thursday, 5/12/11

Jake spit up a little this morning. We had about 15 minutes of play time when I woke up. Jake was chasing the balls, and even did a drop & roll, which he hasn't done in a looong time! I think I wore him out because now he is just chilling.  

Wednesday, 5/11/11

Jake is still doing great. It does look like he lost a bit of weight. I'm guessing it's because they cut his prednisone in half about a month ago. I called the dr's office and they said to keep an eye on him-they might increase it slightly. He's still eating well and acting like himself. He hasn't thrown up that much the past week. The hairball stuff I've been giving him is doing it's job.

Tuesday, 5/3/11

Jake threw up this morning. It wasn't a huge amount, but it was more solid. I couldn't tell if there was a hairball in there. I feel so bad for him-it seems to be a daily morning occurance.
